Immunization saves millions of lives every year and is widely recognized as one of the most successful and cost-effective public health interventions in the world. Nevertheless, some 20 million children in the world today have not been immunized at all or are under-immunized. Diseases such as Haemophilus influenzae type b, pertussis, poliomyelitis, meningococcal disease are dangerous not only for children, but also for adult patients with immunodeficiency conditions, as well as for oncology and hematology patients. Infection of such patients with the above infections can lead to a more severe course of the underlying disease, more expensive therapy and more severe consequences, up to lethal outcome. Unvaccinated children living in the families of our patients may be a potential source of infectious diseases in adult patients.

Purpose of the event is further improvement of the immunoprophylaxis system in the Republic of Belarus, increasing accessibility of preventive vaccinations for citizens of Belarus, and increasing adherence to vaccination among patients.

Target audience of the event is general practitioners, pulmonologists, pediatricians, gynecologists and doctors of other specialties.

The main topics for discussion are:

• Improvement of the national preventive vaccination calendar and the calendar of preventive vaccinations for epidemic indications
• Improved timeliness in amending the vaccination plan in response to new epidemiological challenges
• Development of a system for planning and implementation of immunoprophylaxis measures, and the necessary measures to increase citizens' commitment to vaccination.

The official languages of the forum are: Belarusian, Russian, English.

The speakers of the event are leading experts in the field of vaccine prophylaxis in the Republic of Belarus, the Russian Federation and abroad.
