The Education Project Endovideosurgery to the Provinces
Participation in the Project enabled Luninets Central District Hospital (of the Brest Region) to introduce minimally invasive inguinal hernia surgery procedures.
03.03.2021

As part of Stage 4 of the Education Project Endovideosurgery to the Provinces, in February of 2021, Luninents Central District Hospital located in the Brest Region adopted minimally invasive inguinal hernia surgery procedures: total endoscopic properitoneal hernioplasty and transabdominal preperitoneal herniaoplasty.

During the autumn of 2020, surgeons of Luninets CDH received training in this area using the Training Simulation Center’s facilities of State Institution “Republican Clinical Medical Center” of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Belarus. They were presented with current theoretical data relating to the surgical practices, as well as with a detailed analysis of proprietary video materials from the knowledge base of our Educational Center. Apart from the above, a training simulation course was held to develop manual skills using highly realistic virtual simulators and laparoscopy wards. After the completion of training, our instructors visited Luninets CDH of the Brest Region and conducted a training workshop in minimally invasive properitoneal hernioplasty treatment directly at the surgical facilities of the Hospital using the available equipment.
